Stephanie Heston
MSW LSW
Therapist
Supervised by Jordan Dellinger
Stephanie is a Social Worker that specializes in working with Children & Families. Stephanie earned her Bachelors and Masters degrees both from the University of Akron in Social Work in 2006 and 2009, respectively. In obtaining her Bachelors, she got a concentration in Child Welfare and began with an interest in working with Children’s Services; however, after doing this for a time, decided this wasn’t where she wanted to be.
Stephanie has had a great deal of experience in the field, working with the likes of juvenile justice, community mental health, residential care, and private practice, as well as a short stint in hospice. Stephanie’s real passion is children and helping them through the “tough stuff.”
Stephanie specializes in divorce, grief, trauma, family issues, parenting, play, and crisis work. A lot of folks wonder why she wants to work in these populations, yet Stephanie grew up in a very tumultuous family and understands a lot of these dynamics.
Often times kids, teens especially, feel that no one understands them, their situation, their feelings, etc., yet once they understand that they are not alone in going through things and that others have been there as well, kids begin to connect, and then begin their healing journey.
Stephanie brings a very calm, playful, and relaxed atmosphere to the sessions.
